Appuldurcombe House

Just a short drive from the Isle of Wight cottages is the Appuldurcombe House. You can take your car or ride the bus to go to Appuldurcombe Road to the West of Wroxall in East Wight. This used to be one of the grandest houses in the 18th century and considered as a famous historic landmark in the island. Bring a fully charged camera because the falconry and owl house in the laundry and brew section of the manor are worth capturing on film. As you take a tour around, you will be inspired by the rich architectural details of the house and the beauty of the displays. You can visit this place during your Isle of Wight holidays. Visit the souvenir shops for interesting gift ideas to take back home. Have a delightful feast at the Aviary Cafe if you get hungry. Appuldurcombe House is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. only on Saturday and Sunday during the months of March, November and December. From April to September, you can visit here from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Hassley Manor

After visiting the Appuldurcombe House, drop by Hassley Manor. It is also worth visiting this place during your Isle of Wight holidays because of its rich past and magnificent beauty. The Earl of Wessex was once the owner of this Saxon Manor House and afterwards, it came into possession of King Harold. There is only a minimal charge when you enter the Hassley Manor. Have fun while learning about its history and heritage. If you have brought a car, there is ample parking space around. You can even hold a special event like weddings or birthday parties here. Just call in advance from the Isle of Wight cottages to make reservations. Hassley Manor is open from April to October any day of the week from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
