Resell Rights Revisited - How to Cash in on Other People's Work and Why

I know, I know, you think that you have heard or know all there is about resell rights and why should you read another article about it?

To be honest, it is because there are more to buying the rights to others work than just meets the eye.

This article is all about rights - resell rights, master resell rights and private label rights - what each one is and how YOU can use them to your ultimate advantage!

If you are new to the concept of buying rights to resell to others, you might not understand the differences between the different types and what they really mean. More importantly to your money as an Internet Marketer, you may not understand each of the different rights advantage and how to use the different rights given to the best advantage!

Let's not beat around the bush here, the only reason to get involved with Internet Marketing is for the money, right? And if you are unsure what the different resell rights are and how they can be utilized, then you may be leaving a LOT of money out there on the Internet instead of in collecting your bank account!

There are four basic rights types that are sold with a product. These are: Personal use rights, resell rights, master resell rights, and private label resell rights.

Personal Use Rights

If nothing about rights is mentioned when purchased, then it is assumed that the product has only personal use rights. Which means you have the right to acquire it, print it (for personal use only), and even copy it (as backup for personal use only). The majority of products are sold in this category.

The best thing to do for this type of product is strictly to affiliate for the product owner and drive as much targeted traffic that you can through your affiliate link for the product owner to take orders, deliver, and then pay you your commissions.

Resell Rights

Some times when you purchase a product you get resell rights. You will definitely know if you have resell rights, it is never implied, nor is master resell rights nor private label resell rights. All are usually explained in great detail. And normally, you will also receive a list of your rights with this product explained in great detail as well.

In addition to personal use rights, when a product has resell rights, it normally means that you, the purchaser of the product, has the right to resell the product. You can not make any changes to the product, you have to sell it as is. But you can all of the sale that you resell the product at. Some times you can sell the product for whatever you want, but you can not give it away nor add it as a bonus nor a make it available for free through a member site or as a squeeze page offer. There are even times that the resell price is dictated and can not be changed. This is normally explained in detail with the product.

To be able to resell a product works great as one-time-offers, as back end sales, email list campaigns, and even pay per click campaigns. They are great because a lot of times you can sell the product through the reputation of the producer, yet you get to keep all of the money. So it is actually better than affiliating because it is like you get the benefit of the experience of the creator without having to split sales!

Master Resell Rights

In addition to your personal use rights and resell rights, master resell rights give you the extra benefit of being able to give the product away for free if you desire, or sell it for whatever price you desire.

This type of rights product works great for promotions, as an added bonus to something else you are selling to use as an incentive, or several other options. You could use it as an incentive to give to somebody for the exchange of their name and email for your list. You can use it in a member site or email club as that weeks/months bonus product gift. You can use it as an incentive for a one time offer purchase or a back end purchase by offering it free when the purchase the oto or bank end. You can print it off and sell it as a manual for whatever price you want. You can even create a class around it, sell the class study for whatever price you want and use the product as the manual you are teaching from!

In my opinion, if you are going to purchase rights, you want to get as many as you can. I try to stick to at least master resell rights when I can. But wait, there is something even better!

Private Label Rights

Oh, this is the mother of all rights! In additional to everything I mentioned above, you can go that one step further with this product by changing it completely and reselling it or give it away as you wish! You can even be so bold as to claim the work as your own and sell it that way.

Private label rights are the top of the chain. They work great for everything mentioned above. They can be re-labeled with your company logo if you like. They can be sold as a product you created. There is no limit to the things you can think of doing when you have Private label rights!

Now do you see why I think resell rights are often overlooked and ignored for the potential that they truly have? Even though you may have become use to seeing the ability to buy resell rights with a lot of products being pushed or even bundled together, you should really take notice of these in the future.

The amount of money that can be made with resell rights varies, but some times it is only limited to your thinking outside of the box!

Are you leaving tons of money out there for others to grab? Don't let this happen to you! In fact there is money out there to grab for everyone! Master Resell Rights Explained

Master Resell Rights are some of the most valuable rights available, especially when you're talking about ebooks. Many master resell rights products come with a sales letter in addition to the product itself so you can plug it in, bring in the clients, and start making a profit right away.

What are Master Resell Rights?

As you probably already realize, with resell rights, you gain the rights to resell a particular product, with master rights, you gain a whole lot more than that. In addition to selling the product, you can also sell the rights to resell it. That means you can resell the business opportunity by selling someone else the rights to use the product and the sales letter and generate an income from them.

Where Can You Find the Best Master Resell Rights Products?

One of the most important considerations to make when you are debating about a particular master resell right product is how long has this product been available for sale? Is the market saturated with it? Now that's not to say you can't make any money with it. Even if the master rights have been available for years and the product is fairly saturated, if you have a list of people who've not likely been exposed to it that would be receptive to buying it, you may have struck a goldmine.

For instance, if you are generating a list of people brand new to the idea of making money online (which wouldn't be impossible to do with all the newcomers to online marketing each and every day), you could still make a sizeable profit from many popular internet marketing master rights products.

The key with master resell rights (or any resell rights product) is to find a market hungry for the products and then give them exactly what they want.

Resell Rights - A Brief Introduction

Let me start by explaining exactly what resale rights are, just in case you don't know.

Resell rights or resale rights are the same thing as the name suggests basically they mean you have the right to possibly Resell/Resale the product in most cases an e-book or a piece of software.

Depending on what rights you have will determine what you are allowed to do with the product, now this can be a little confusing if you don't know about the rights.

Resale Rights Explained.

They are lots of different rights so we are going to cover the main ones:-

Resell Rights gives you the right to resell the product and keep 100% of the profit, however your customer who buys it cannot resell the product and no changes can be made to the product either by yourself or your customer.

Master Resell Rights gives you the right to resell the product and keep 100% of the profits, it also gives your customer resell rights allowing them to do the same, however yourself and your customer and his customer etc can still not make any changes to the product.

Private Label Rights (PLR) gives you the right to resell the product, your customer and his customers can resell the product and you all can make any changes to the product you like and treat it as your own.

Making An Income.

Generally in the Internet Marketing world there are a lot of people that make a decent income by reselling e-books, so this is what I am going concentrate on.

When you get resell rights to a product you are basically getting given an opportunity for a business via the product that you can sell to others and if promoted right, you can make some good money from without the need to make you own products.

When you buy a product you normally have a condition specified within the product normally found on the first or second page telling you what you can do with it such as give it away, resell it, make any changes etc....

Becoming A Reseller.

Reselling e-books is an easy and great way to start an online business for very little cost, although can be a little technical in most cases as you will need a site, a domain, site HTML knowledge, pay monthly hosting fees to run your site etc... however not in all cases is this stuff required.

Resell Rights Explained

Making Some Fast Cash Or a Complete Living by Buying Resell Rights

To start with, let's define what exactly resell rights are. Resell rights are a license for the purchaser of a product to be able to reproduce or resell the products. Hence that is the name "resell rights" comes from. You purchase not only the product, but also the rights to resell the product.

There are different levels of resell rights as well. From just being able to resell a product as is at a set price to the right to completely change or manipulate the product, re-brand the product (change the name of the maker of the product), sell the changed product for as much or as little as you want. Some resell rights even give you the ability to give the product away!

Resell rights have enabled a lot of people to make a great living, some even a fortune. Especially when combined with the power of the Internet. Using Internet Marketing techniques and resell rights products, some have even become millionaires.

There are two ways to make money using resell rights. You can either purchase resell rights to somebody's product and resell yourself and keep the profits of those sales. Or you can sell resell rights to others of either your own products or the products of others that you have bought the rights to.

The ultimate rights you can get is called "Master Resell Rights (MRR)". The Master Resell Rights basically gives you the right to do whatever you want to do with that product. Including giving it away if you want to. If going into this type of marketing, when you can, you definitely want to try and get Master Resell Rights above all others.

Sometimes you can not get MRR, so you have to settle for whatever rights the owner is selling with the product. Sometimes it is worth it, sometimes it is not. It depends on what you want to do with the product. But you really need to be sure you know what rights you have with a product. Some do not give certain rights away, and you may violate a contract and get into legal problems if you do not pay attention to what you are doing. You can never assume rights to anything without verifying what rights you have.

Fortunately, most people make it very, very clear as to what you can and can not do with their product you are purchasing. But just as they make it clear to you your rights, they also make it clear the consequences you should expect to experience for breaking the rights contract.

What makes resell rights great is that they allow people who do not have products to still be able to sell something to make a profit from. It makes it very easy for inexperienced people to start a business. Usually the fastest way to do this is online, and normally you will often buy the rights to more than one product.

When you think about it, it makes sense, right? If you buy the rights to resell a product and it is making some sales, that is great! Why not do that with as many as you are comfortable with to increase those sales? It is like diversifying. If you are not making sales from one product, it can hurt but not destroy you because you have other products set up to sell as well.

Most people start out with lower priced products and work their way up to the big ticket items. When starting, you should expect to pay up to $50 for a product you can have rights to. But if the rights are good, and the product is great, you might be able to resell the product for as much as $100! That would mean in your very first sale, you would double your money! And you, of course, get the benefit of learning for yourself for whatever product you buy!

In a way, resell rights is a great way to learn something you are interested in. Say you want to learn more about pay per click ads. You can search for a pay per click product with resell rights. That way you can learn about something you would have to pay for anyways, but you can then turn around and sell the product to others to make some more money, not only your original purchase but extra.

What college or whatever course have you heard of that you can learn it, then resell the course as many times as you want?

The big boys of the Internet get products with rights for thousands of dollars. Then resell those products for thousands of dollars. It is all the exact same principle, just different dollar amounts. Basically you have to focus your sales towards the intended people. You would not try to sell a $5000 product to a focus group that makes $25,000 or less per year. You are going to be hard pressed to get your sales, regardless how good the product is. It would just not be feasible for someone to give up a fifth of their yearly income to something that they are just starting and do not know how to do the business or whatever you are selling.

That is the summary of resell rights. It is definitely a high over-head view. You can narrow it down to niches, products, and even price ranges. There are unlimited possibilities you can do with them because you have the resell rights to do whatever with them.

Resell Rights Fundamentals For Information Marketers

Resell rights marketing on the Internet is a relatively simple idea. If you purchase a product with resell rights, you can sell the product once you have made that purchase. You could make a profit by offering salable resell rights products on your website or by using them as an incentive or a bonus for prospects who opt in to your newsletter or buy your product.

The resell rights of a digital product are usually displayed on the product's text or PDF license. The usual resell rights are: Basic Resale Rights - the purchaser of the product can resell the product without transferring the resale rights to the purchaser's customers, Master Resale Rights - the purchaser can sell the product's resell rights to the purchaser's customers, Private Label Rights - the purchaser has the option to modify the product and even claim authorship after making considerable changes.

When you buy a digital resell rights product, be sure to thoroughly read the text or PDF license's rules for the product package. You would want to be sure of what you're allowed to do. Some resell rights licenses will only allow you market the product as a stand-alone item, some will let you bundle it with similar products, and other resell rights licenses will even apply to the design of the sales page. When you market resell rights products, there are 5 basic marketing strategies that you should know...

1) Focus on one niche at a time.

If you are a beginner, your first strategy is to begin selling digital products in only one niche. Focus is important and imperative for your success. Give all you got when marketing your niche products and earn from one niche first. You can gradually add more niches to your sales plans later.

2) Study the competition.

Study competitors who are selling the very same resell rights products as you. Find out what they do to promote the product. In doing that, you can find a way to stand out.

3) Alter the sales copy.

If allowed by the rules of the resale license, you can edit the product's sales letter for better conversions. It's an option that affiliate marketers don't have.

4) Throw in the bonuses.

You can add more niche-related bonuses and incentives for your prospects so they will buy from you. Nowadays, prospective customers do take the time to comparison shop before purchasing, especially if they're going to purchase a resell rights product.

5) Bundle up.

If permitted by the terms of the resale license, bundle a package of resell rights products and promote it at a fair price. Be sure that all of the products are of a similar theme or niche.

6) Supplement.

Research, compile and modify information in your niche to create a supplemental product. Create a new digital information product such as a brief special report, in YOUR name, and package that resell rights product with your main product to add value. That's possible because most resell-rights product creators allow you to package their main products with related supplemental products, if their resell rights licenses do not specifically forbid it.

7) Get viral.

You can include your own "Thank You" note and your own ad into the Resellers' Materials Pack, if the product you're promoting has master resell rights allowing your customer to resell the product and keep 100 percent of the profit. This is a "viral" method of sales and traffic generation.

As other digital resellers already know, there are many advantages associated with buying and selling digital resell rights products and especially information products. You just have to make certain that you use the proper strategies for more sales.

Give Your Niche Business A Kick-Start With Resell Rights

If you don't have a niche product of your own and you don't have the experience, time or inclination to develop one, Resell Rights is great way to give your niche business a kick-start. Here's why...

When you buy the resell rights to a niche product you're buying a ready-made business, usually complete with a tried and tested sales letter, graphics and in some cases other marketing materials. All you then need is a suitable domain name, hosting and a payment processor and you're ready to start marketing. Once you start selling, all the profit you make is yours - just as if you were selling your own product.

Resell rights can apply to both physical and digital products, but for the online niche marketer it's better to stick with digital products which your customer can download immediately. We're going to limit ourselves to digital products here.

Before you jump in though, there are several categories of resell rights license which you need to understand first :

Resell Rights - Gives you the right to resell the product to your customers but your customers don't have the right to resell the product on.

Master Rights - You get the right to resell the product "and" sell the Resell Rights license to your customers. Your customers can in turn resell the same product to their customers.

Private Label Rights - This is the grand daddy of all resell rights! Buying Private Label Rights usually gives you the right to change the product in any way you like -put your own name on it, sell resell rights and even master resell rights to others and basically use and treat the product as if it were your own creation.

There are others, but these are the main ones.

Some products come with resell rights included "with" the product price, whilst with others the cost of the resell license is in "addition" to the product price.

When you buy the resell rights separately from the product they will probably be more expensive, but don't be put off by this because the good news is that the higher price will help limit your competition. This is because the number of other people purchasing the rights will be less than for cheaper licenses.

Something else you should know is, "not all resale licenses are created equal".

License terms can vary considerably, so it's essential that you find out exactly what you "are" and "are not" allowed to do with the product before you commit to buying the rights. For instance the rights seller may include restrictions like:
Setting the price at which the product must be sold. Prohibit the bundling the product with other products. Prohibit inclusion in membership sites. Prohibit selling the item on Auction sites.
Although these restrictions may seem onerous, generally they are there to protect the integrity and value of the product and your investment as a reseller.

OK, now we've covered the basics, let's move on to where to look for products with resell rights. Here are some suggestions:
Search engines - type in the search phrase "resell rights" or "master resell rights" and search through the listings which come up. Resell rights and private label membership sites - these sites will provide you with a steady stream of products for you to market. Ask the author - If you have any digital products that you already own that you'd be interested in marketing, try approaching the owner and see if they're prepared to sell you rights to market their product.

Marketing resell rights products can be a lucrative string to your niche marketing bow, but choose your products with care. Research the rights offer thoroughly, ask the seller how long the resell rights have been available and how many licenses have been sold already before you leap in. If the offer has been around for a while and a lot of licenses have been sold there'll be a lot of competition, keep looking - it will be well worth the effort.

Resell Rights Business Course Part I - What are Resell Rights Products?

In the earlier days of net a product was created and sold by the original creator or affiliates. As the market developed the concept changed and people started passing the resell rights along with the product. This meant people could sell the products as reseller and keep all the profits. This was a win win situation. The creator would get a higher price and reseller gets the resell rights.

There are many kinds of rights which can be passed with a product. It is important to understand different kinds of product rights because product rights is quite a sensitive issue and protected by copyright laws. It is better to understand these terms and how they differ from each other.

Giveaway Rights:

These are basic distribution rights. It means mean you are free to pass on that ebook or software at no cost to anyone. You are not allowed to sell it. You can find these rights usually stated at the beginning of ebooks or somewhere in the software file. You cannot alter the content of the product.

Resell Rights:

These are also called resale rights. It means that you are free to sell that product for any price and can keep all the profits. These products come with pre written sales pages, product images and thank you pages. They usually have a suggested retail price is listed.

Generally you are allowed to give them to your customers and members as bonus or include them in a membership site for download.

This resell right however does not allow you to pass resell rights itself to your customers.

Master Resell Rights:

It means you could give it away, resell it, bundle it, create new information packages or include them in your own membership sites. In this case you can pass on the resell rights to others. Thus when you sell that product to somebody, he can further sell it to someone else.

Master resell rights usually cost more but give the owner more control. Master resell rights do vary a little depending on the product creator. Be sure to abide be the license
rights included with each individual product.

Private label resell rights:

They are the most generous rights. You get the source files of the products. You can create a new product from it and call it your own. You could edit the content, add to it, remove certain parts, create new images, redo the sales page and repackage the entire product. You could even use the text content to create a niche website theme, online e-course, or break a large file into mini reports.

You could then take the product you recreated and give it away, resell it, bundle it with other products and package or include them in your own membership sites.

Unless otherwise stated in the private label rights, you could sell the resell rights to others.

So when you sell that product to someone, you could offer them the resell rights as well for a higher price so they sell it to someone else.

Private label rights are usually the most expensive form of rights to buy as buyer gets full editing control and can create new products from the source files.

In our next article we will discuss about places where we can buy resell rights products.
